Tuuletar is a multi-award-winning vocal band from Finland. Founded in 2012, Tuuletar has captivated audiences and critics alike with their virtuosic vocal acrobatics and genre-defying music. They have a global fanbase, over 8 million views on YouTube and have done performances in 30 countries across five continents. Renowned for their expressive vocal techniques, Tuuletar creates music that is bold, playful, and full of personality. Drawing from Finno-Ugric and Nordic folk traditions, the group crafts a unique sonic world where ancient roots dance seamlessly with modern musical genres and cultures.
Tuuletar has toured all over the world, from India to Chile to New Zealand, and performed at some of the world’s top music festivals; all with their self-composed, Finnish-language repertoire. Their music has been featured in the trailer for HBO’s Game of Thrones, as well as in various Netflix productions. In Finland, they have performed at the Finnish Presidential Palace, appeared sporadically on prime time TV, and collaborated with Tapiola Sinfonietta, The Polytech Choir, Vantaa Pops Orchestra, and on the film score for Tale of the Sleeping Giants (Tunturin tarina).
Their debut album was awarded an EMMA (Finnish Grammy) in 2017 for Best Ethno Album, and their album ‘Tules Maas Vedes Taivaal’ ranked among the most-played albums on the World Music Charts in 2016. In 2019, they received the Borderd Breaking Act Award and were nominated for the Finnish Music Publishers’ Award.
